WEG success for Pippa
Monday 4 October 2010
Allen & Page would like to congratulate sponsored rider Pippa Funnell on a glorious fifth individual placing at the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.
Pippa and nine-year-old Redesigned made up for their five year absence from the British squad with an exciting clear cross country, over what was widely considered to be a tricky track from course designer Mike Etherington-Smith. Following her cross country, Pippa said: “I’m chuffed to bits. I hadn’t meant to set out that quickly but he just took hold and was quite keen. I realise now he’s really a year off being ready for this level when I look back at my previous top horses like Supreme Rock and Primmore’s Pride but he coped with all the direct routes. He’s got so much scope and jump.” Following this great performance, Pippa went into the show jumping feeling the pressure, but Redesigned was foot perfect, jumping a clear round to finish on their dressage score of 45.5. This score gave Pippa a well-deserved individual fifth place.
