Allen & Page Goes Solar
Thursday 24 May 2012
Allen & Page is delighted to announce the installation of solar panels to its Norfolk mill. This is an exciting step forward and aligns with the company’s ethos of reducing the environmental impact of the business.
Allen & Page is constantly aware of the impact it has on the environment and the responsibility it has to produce feeds in the greenest way possible. The state-of-the-art mill in the heart of the Norfolk countryside is already highly efficient but the new solar energy source is a big step forward to further reducing the company’s carbon footprint. Over the course of a year the new solar panels will generate thousands of kilowatt hours of electricity, avoiding over 50 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This is equivalent to around 100,000 miles in a family car or 800,000 kettles full of boiling water!
The solar photovoltaic system has been installed by East Anglian company Mosscliff Environmental, which is renowned for its renewable energy solutions for homes and businesses. The panels have been mounted on the roof of the mill and make the most of the high levels of sunlight in the region.
